Blood cleanup near you
Top Clean Bio is a referral service. Independent partner companies perform and invoice the work. Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are not covered.
Free to request. No obligation.
Blood is its own referral
Blood cleanup is the referral for blood or other body fluids on surfaces in a home, a workplace, or a vehicle, once any emergency is over and the space can be entered. The amount does not decide whether the referral makes sense. A smaller spill can soak carpet, grout, a mattress, or a car seat. A larger one can cross a hallway. Household towels and a shop vacuum spread it. We do not perform the cleanup and do not send a crew.
Not every blood event is a crime. A medical emergency at home, a workplace injury after the injured person is in care, or fluid left in a bathroom can all be this kind of request. If someone still needs medical help, call 911 first. Cleanup is not the first step while a person is hurt.
What the certified line in the title means
Certified Referrals means the founder, Travis Smith, reviews each partner company before it can be introduced through our network. That review is not a government license. The title is not a claim that this company employs the people who do the work or issues them a credential. Those people, if a partner accepts the job, work for that independent company.
The review also does not travel with the partner into a different kind of job. A company that can address blood in a house is not automatically allowed to clear a former drug lab. Those are different rules. If the property needs a state qualification the partner does not have, the partner should decline.
Where a blood referral can be matched
This service covers the 48 contiguous states. Alaska, Hawaii, and U.S. territories are outside it. There is no local storefront. The fastest way to get help is the Request Help form; available 24/7/365. Name the city and state even if that city does not yet have its own page. The state hubs below list the cities that do.
A city page for blood cleanup, where one exists, names neighborhoods and nearby towns and says how a death scene is released in that county. This national page is the overview. It does not pretend that every county uses the same coroner or medical examiner. The city page is where that local note lives.
Why household products are a poor plan
Blood can carry pathogens. OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030, governs workers who handle blood on the job. The standard applies to an employer's workers. It is one reason the work belongs with a company that trains its own people, not with relatives using paper towels. We are not that employer.
Hard tile, grout, carpet, padding, drywall, upholstery, and a vehicle seat each hold fluid differently. Wiping the surface you can see does not reach what has already moved underneath. A household vacuum can aerosolize material and then sit in a closet still contaminated. Bleach poured on a porous floor is not a cleanup plan. The partner has to see, or hear a careful description of, what the surface actually is.
After the emergency, or after a scene is released
If police, a coroner, or a medical examiner are involved, wait until they release the property. Release means the scene can be entered. It does not mean the family should scrub the room. We are not the coroner, not the medical examiner, and not the police. It does not attend the scene and it does not tell you the cause of a death.
Which office handles a death depends on the county. Some counties use an elected coroner. Others use a medical examiner. A few states run the system from a state office. City pages name the local pattern, including places that differ from the rest of their state, such as a county coroner beside a neighboring medical examiner. Families request a referral after that office, or local law enforcement, says the property can be entered.
Homes, workplaces, and vehicles
In a house or apartment, keep people and pets out of the room. Do not wash blood into a floor drain as a first step. Do not bag bedding until you know whether anyone still needs it, especially if officials have not finished. In a workplace, get medical care underway first, and follow the site's own rules about who may enter. We do not supervise that site and are not the employer of anyone on it.
A vehicle is a small space with padding, electronics, and metal. Leave it closed and parked. Do not let other people sit in it. If a department or a tow yard still has the vehicle, wait until it is released to the person who can authorize the work. The partner coordinates with that person. We do not take custody of the vehicle.
How matching works without a phone line
Use Request Help. Say whether it is a home, a workplace, or a vehicle, the city and state, and whether the area is already safe to enter. You do not need to describe injuries. We introduce an independent partner. That company decides whether it can take the address. There is no promised arrival window on this page, because the partner, the distance, and access all change the answer.
You never pay Top Clean Bio. The partner sends its own invoice if it accepts the job. This page does not quote a cost, and it does not tell you what any policy will pay. Questions about a policy belong with your insurer and with the partner, not with a referral page.
What this page does not cover
Unattended death, sewage in a building, hoarding, tear gas residue, and a former meth lab are related, but they are not the same job as blood on a surface. The biohazard cleanup guide explains the wider referral, and the service links below open each of those pages. Use this blood page when blood or other body fluids are the reason you are asking. Use the other page when the condition is decomposition, wastewater, or a drug lab.
Drug-lab rules are state-specific. Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Indiana, and Arizona each have a formal path for who may assess or remediate a lab. Many other states do not copy that certificate. We do not certify a property and do not perform lab clearance. A few items of paraphernalia are not automatically a former laboratory. Say what you actually know, and let the partner say whether the job is one it can accept.
Rentals and shared buildings
In a single-family house, the owner or a family member who has been given authority usually requests the referral. In an apartment, blood in a private unit and blood in a shared hallway are not the same access problem. The manager often controls the hallway. A tenant who still occupies the unit should be part of the request and should not be told to clean the fluid.
We do not interpret the lease, do not decide who pays, and do not contact a landlord unless the person making the request asks for that introduction. If you are the manager, say so. If you are the tenant and you cannot authorize a vendor, say that too.
While you wait
Close the door to the affected room if you can do it without stepping through the fluid. Keep children and pets out. Do not post photographs. Do not use a fan to blow the odor into the rest of the home. Heat will speed what you can smell. Cold can hide it. Neither one makes the room safe for a family to clean.
When you are ready, use Request Help. If your city is one of the markets linked on this page, you can also open the city overview, the blood page for that city, or the biohazard page for that city. Those pages add the county and the nearby towns. They all come back to the same request.

Questions people ask
Is a small amount of blood still a reason to request a referral?
It can be. Blood on carpet, grout, a mattress, or a car seat is a poor job for household products. The partner looks at the surface. The size of the stain is not the test.
What does Certified Referrals mean on this page?
The founder reviews partner companies before they can receive a referral. It is not a state license held by we, and it does not mean our network employs technicians.
Does blood cleanup include an unattended death or sewage?
No. Those are different referrals. Start with the biohazard cleanup guide, or open the unattended-death or sewage service page. Blood cleanup is for blood and other body fluids.
Can a request cover a vehicle?
Yes. Leave the vehicle closed and do not let others sit in it. If someone else still has custody of it, wait until the person who can authorize the work has it. The partner confirms whether it can take that vehicle.
Will someone from our network come to the property?
No. We do not visit the address and do not perform cleanup. An independent partner does the work if it accepts the referral. There is no local office to visit.
Are Alaska and Hawaii included?
No. Matching covers the 48 contiguous states only. Territories are not included. Use a state page to see listed cities, or name your town on Request Help.
What should I do before a partner is introduced?
Keep people and pets out, do not vacuum the fluid, and do not enter a scene that has not been released. Then use Request Help. The fastest way to get help is the Request Help form; available 24/7/365.
