Hoarding Cleanup
Hoarding cleanup is for homes where accumulated belongings, spoiled food, or pest activity have made rooms unsafe or unusable. The person who lives there may feel ashamed. The work goes better when they, or a trusted family member, help decide what is kept. We do not judge the household. We refer the request to an independent company that offers this service.
Why a professional company
Clutter alone is not always a biohazard. When there is human or animal waste, rotting food, or evidence of pests, biological risk is part of the job. A partner company can separate ordinary clean-out work from the areas that need disinfection.
What partner companies typically do
Partners typically walk the home, agree on what will be removed, deal with biohazard items first, and haul debris they are equipped to take. They should not empty a house against the resident's wishes when the resident still controls the property. Prices are the partner's.
What to do right now
- Do not start a full clean-out in a single afternoon if the resident is overwhelmed.
- Watch for needles before moving piles.
- If utilities are off or the structure is unsafe, say so on the request.
- Keep the request factual. Graphic detail is not required.
If piles may hide needles, that part of the job is a separate referral for needle and sharps cleanup.
Some property insurance policies may cover part of biohazard cleanup; many don't, and coverage depends on your policy. Check with your insurer. Insurance and self-pay jobs are accepted. Top Clean Bio is not an insurer, adjuster, or public adjuster and does not handle or negotiate claims.
