Homicide Cleanup
Homicide cleanup referrals are for properties that have been released to the family, landlord, or property manager. We do not describe these events in graphic terms and do not visit the address. We connect the caller with an independent company that decides whether it can take the job.
Why a professional company
Professional cleanup is recommended because blood and other body fluids can carry pathogens. OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030, governs workers who handle blood on the job. That standard applies to the employer's workers. It is one reason this work belongs with a company that trains its own people, not with family members using household products.
What partner companies typically do
The partner company handles assessment, containment, removal of affected materials, disinfection, and disposal. Any photos or notes the company creates are its own records. We do not manage insurance claims or police reports.
What to do right now
- Do not enter the scene until police say it is released.
- Do not let other tenants or family walk through the area.
- Avoid posting details or images of the scene.
- Call 911 if the location is not yet safe.
Some property insurance policies may cover part of biohazard cleanup; many don't, and coverage depends on your policy. Check with your insurer. Insurance and self-pay jobs are accepted. Top Clean Bio is not an insurer, adjuster, or public adjuster and does not handle or negotiate claims.
