Blood and biohazard cleanup in Bismarck, North Dakota

Bismarck is in Burleigh County, North Dakota. Neighborhoods and districts include downtown and the Cathedral Area. Nearby towns people ask about include Mandan.

A request can cover a house, apartment, business, or vehicle in Bismarck and those nearby communities. Matching does not mean a truck is stationed in Bismarck.

In Burleigh County, death investigations go through the county coroner. That office, often with local law enforcement, controls the scene until the property is released to the family or the owner. We are not the coroner and do not work the scene. Request Help is for after the release, when someone needs a cleanup company.

Until that release, do not enter to clean, do not throw belongings away, and do not post images of the scene. If someone is in danger, call 911. If you or someone with you is in crisis, call or text 988.

Long freezes in Bismarck slow the visible changes after an unattended death. A thaw, or a heated closed room, can make odor obvious quickly. Cold is not the same thing as safe.

Bismarck housing includes Cathedral Area houses and river-bluff homes. We do not give legal advice about who is responsible. After a scene is released, the person who controls the property usually requests the referral. That is often the owner or the manager for a rental, and a family member when the household still controls the home. A tenant should not be expected to wipe blood or decomposition residue. Neither one is a reason for the family to do the cleanup.

North Dakota does not use one national meth-lab license. If a Bismarck property was used to manufacture drugs, that is a different referral from blood or an unattended death. The partner follows the health or environmental direction that applies, or declines, and can provide a clearance or completion report from the cleanup company.

An independent partner that accepts a Bismarck referral typically contains the area, removes porous materials it is prepared to take, disinfects what can stay, and arranges disposal through its own channels. Odor work comes after the source is gone. That company does the work and sends its own invoice. We are not paid by the customer. There is no local office in Burleigh County.
